Update 6/19

We have a resolution. After meeting with the incoming Vice Provost yesterday, we’ve been offered one of two contracts (up to the individual to choose):

4/4 load for $36,000
5/5 load for $40,000

These both are 100% teaching jobs. The department is under strict orders that these positions are not to have any service required or any course releases.

This resolution works for most people. There are, unfortunately, a couple of long-term instructors that this works against. We hope the college will work with them individually on equatable pay.

While this isn’t perfect, this is the first significant pay increase for the rank in 28 years. It’s better than the contracts we had in our hand to teach 5/5 for a pay cut, and the bonus was that the Vice Provost took seriously our pedagogical concerns and offered the 4/4 for instructors to choose.
