Recently, President Michael Crow sent the faculty a slideshow of how our retention rates stack up to other universities. Apparently a we are doing a GREAT job!! The Instructors teaching FYC add to these retention rates SO MUCH by working one-on-one with students. Yet, our work towards a major university goal isn’t worth the respect or fairness of a living wage. In a 5/5 teaching load, we will no longer be able to provide such a useful service to the university. Students, faculty, parents, colleagues, and community members should really be asking what ASU values.
